We’re fostering a vibrant community where collaboration drives transformative pediatric epilepsy research.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU

  • We convene and facilitate two annual gatherings where members collaborate: PERC’s Annual Meeting in May and a dedicated meeting during the AES National Conference in December.

  • We actively support our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) by scheduling monthly virtual meetings and providing ongoing communications.

  • We assist in identifying funding opportunities for activities that stem from PERC collaboration efforts.

  • We help build multi-center networks, enabling our members to tackle complex research projects together.

  • We offer mentoring opportunities for both mentors and mentees, nurturing professional growth within the pediatric epilepsy research community.

  • We promote networking within and across SIGs to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing.

STEPS TO
BecomING a member

In order to join PERC, your institution must become a member which involves:

  • A Memo of Understanding
    An authorized member of your institution signs a Memo of Understanding.

  • Active Participation
    A commitment from each member institution to actively participate in one or more SIGs.

PERC Special Interest Groups typically meet via Zoom on a regular basis, in addition to meeting in person at national epilepsy conferences.

There are currently no membership fees involved in participating in PERC.

Organization
Member Responsibilities

Representation
Designate one or more individuals to serve as its representative and actively participate in PERC’s Special Interest Groups.

Annual Retreats
Commit to sending a minimum of one individual from the institution to 1) PERC’s Annual Retreat the first Thursday and Friday in May of each year and 2) PERC’s Annual Meeting during the American Epilepsy Society national conference.

Commitment to PERC
Abide by PERC’s bylaws and decisions made by the Board of Directors. Abide by the agreements made in the Memo of Understanding.

Individual
Member responsibilities

Active Engagement
Join one or more of PERC’s Special Interest Groups and attend at least 75% of SIG meetings each year via zoom.

Research Involvement
Contribute to SIG research projects and follow PERC’s authorship guidelines.

New Projects
For SIG leaders, utilize the SIG Project Template form or other mechanisms for new and ongoing research initiatives, allowing the Board of Directors to follow your progress and share your work effectively.

Confidentiality
Respect and protect confidential Information as outlined in the Memo of Understanding.

Community Spirit
Foster a collegial, respectful, and supportive environment to advance PERC’s mission.
